(Wouldn't be the first time I've done that. I also find Audacity useful for playing around with setup - for one thing I can confirm that it is actually the expensive mic that's picking up the sound and not the cheap laptop built-in mic. I can't remember if I needed to go into Sound within Control Panel to tweak the Recording levels, but I may have done (?) Looks like the drivers are provided by Microsoft for mine. You couldn't hear it very loudly on the mic, but I think some clever processing inside the mic was perhaps trying to cancel out the noise behind and highlight the sound in front, but in doing so it affected the overall sound.I hesitate to post on this thread because I know very little about this sort of thing compared to people like Fireberd and probably the OP.īut I do have a different Blue USB mic (a Yeti) which I've only really started to play with, but it does seem to work OK with Windows 10. )Įdit: I forgot to say - one time I got pretty bad performance was when I had another computer in the background with the fan going.
